Margaret Luke b 1906

Hi,

Looking for details of Immigration or Travel of Margaret Rose Luke b 1906.

She was a Civil Servant and moved around quite a bit from Uganda in 1950,s to Australia, Cyprus and finally to Eastern Cape, South Africa.

The timing of these travel dates are unknown other than period of 1958 to her final death in Eastern Cape in 2000.

She could have flown but I think as a Civil Servant may have preferred to sail.

Though she was born Rose Margaret she seemed to prefer Margaret.

Any help in any of the destinations on date etc would be welcome.

2nd Feb 1927:  from Plymouth to Bordeaux aboard the Macoris. Her address was given as Adbury
                       House, Newbury

11 Feb 1928: from London to Naples aboard the Fushimi Maru. Address Adbury House, Newbury

26th March 1934: Arrived Southampton from Durban aboard the Windsor Castle. Address Donington
                          Halt, Newbury

21st Feb 1954: Arr London from Mombasa aboard Kenya Castle. Occ Secretary. Place of last perm
                       residence Uganda. Address 3, Churchill Ave, Kenton Middlesex.

Interesting I had the 1954 sailing but not any of the others you have found. Newbury address is a new one for me. Always assumed lived with parents at 3, Churchill Avenue, Kenton.

Wow this adds to my Family Tree.

How do you know that she visited those places?

I cant find her on any more passenger lists. There are several Margaret Lukes, but they are not her, as the date of birth is different, or the POB (one is born in Scotland) or they are married.

Perhaps there is someone in Australia who may have access to incoming passenger lists.

The details was supplied by the daughter of Margaret Luke sister on what Margaret was doing.

But unfortunately was not detailed in dates.
