Hello, perhaps I can help.

Daniel Hurley was my grandfather's little brother. My grandfather, William Hurley, also fought in WW1, as did his, and Daniel's other brother Tom ( who I believe died of wounds in Egypt). My grandfather fought in Egypt, I have his records and my grandmother used to say he would cry everytime he heard the song 'Danny Boy'. Daniel died at dawn in the Battle of Mametz Wood. No known grave.

Daniel Hurley was my Grandad's brother and I would love to speak to anyone who knows something about him.  Some of the information above is incorrect.

Daniel, one L not two LL's, was the youngest brother of my Grandad William John Hurley.  He had 2 other brother's James who died in Egypt during the first world war and Thomas who I sadly know little of.  His parents were Patrick and Rachel Hurley.

Best wishes,

Kevin
