If you are only able to look online there is every chance you may miss his baptism.  Many registers are not yet available online and you have to go to the local record office to look at them or get the films to search at your local LDS family history centre.   Does his marriage hold any clues?   Witnesses (if there are any) are often family members.

Edward scott married ellen Bartlett Aug 1794 eccleshall staffordshire ...which is odd because they both lived in wrenbury cheshire....she was 19 he was 32....their eldest child born wrenbury cheshire 1795...my great great great grandfather Thomas was their third child....got ellen Bartlett and all her family....stuck on Edwards parents and birth/baptism.I may have to vist Chester archives,I live in shropshire so it's not far away....nothing online who was present at their wedding
