Thomas Woolcock
« on: Friday 17 January 14 20:15 GMT (UK) »
I am researching Thomas Woolcock b. Jan. 28, 1821 in St. Just in Penwith, Cornwall.  Married Susanna Rescorl, b. 1822.  They immigrated to New York around 1857.  They are my GGreat Grandparents.  I am trying to find Thomas Woolcock's parents and also ancestry info on Susanna's parents whom I believe are William Rescorl and Grace Vivyan.  I'm a newbie on this site but not new to genealogy.  I've been at since 2007 starting with my maiden name of Kenyon in the Lancashire area (originally Village of Kenyon) and also Robert Morris b. 1734 from Liverpool Lancashire.  :)  Thanks so much for adding me to this site.

Thank you so much Radcliff for giving me much more detail about the Rescorl's. I appreciate your help. I will continue to search for Thomas Woolcock's ancestors which seem to be a mystery.  :)

Hi and welcome to Rootschat, is this the family of Thomas & Susanna in 1851, the marriage of which Radcliff located in 1843 Lostwithiel?

1851 Census

Thomas Willcock 31 occ Copper Miner b Beer Ferris, DEVON
Susanna 28 b Lostwithiel
William T 7 b Lostwithiel
John 5 b Lostwithiel
Richard 3 b Lostwithiel
Edwin 1 b Lostwithiel
Residing at Victoria Place, Lostwithiel, Bodmin
Census Ref HO107/1904/73/28

The baptism in 1821 you found in St Just Cornwall for Thomas Woolcock, has parents Thomas & Joanna, not William as the father in the marriage in 1843?

This could be the baptism of the Thomas who married Susanna:-
Thomas Willcocks 7th February 1819 abode St Agnes, Cornwall Parish Bere Ferrers, Devon, Father William occ Miner Mother Elizabeth

So was this the family that emigrated to the States c 1857?
