Hi Penny

The name Pimblett is an unusual second name, may be the father's surname

Hello Margp,
Just checked but sadly this is not our Florence, as her middle name was Mabel b. 1894 and her Father was James but ours is Florence Miriam b. 1890 and her Father is William Henry Corrin. Once again thank you for your search.
Regards,
Penny

Penny,

I have just paid a visit to the Isle of Man Museum - where the iMuseum has separate search rooms, open Wednesday to Saturday.

If you go in, in person, as a member of Manx National Heritage you can 'buy' a 24-hour pass to the newspapers search, using a code provided, for a cost of £0.0p!

I did some searches on Margaret Corrin, Margaret Alice Corrin, etc. but I didn't find any hits! Sorry! :(

The Reading Room at the main Museum is closed this week - I will try to visit next week, and see if there are any records, not yet digitised, om Margaret.

Hello KGarrad,
Thank you so much for taking the time to do this for us.
Margaret had been living with her adoptive Mother and helped her run a guest house from the age of 8 years. The theory we have is that Margaret has left the island in the 1930's after her adoptive Mother Mary Alice Cain died on 2nd Sep 1929 in Onchan, Douglas. Birkenhead is where her older adoptive sister was living.  We have found a death for a Margaret A Corrin in Birkenhead in 1955 but not certain it is her.
Her real Mother Sarah Mary Corrin nee Cain, died 11 Aug 1946 in Douglas, IOM and her Father William Henry Corrin died 19 Mar 1932 in Douglas, IOM.
We cannot find any marriage or death on the isle of man for Margaret Alice Corrin after 1915.
Any information we would be very grateful for.
Regards,
Penny

Hi

I wonder if Margaret took the name Cain, after her adoptive mother

Hello Margp,

On the 1901 census the letter A is in front of her relationship to the head of family we took this to be adopted.
On 1911 Census she is transcribed as Cain and niece to the head of family, but clearly written Corrin on the actual Census.
On the birth of little Fred in 1914 she has used her full name Margaret Alice Corrin.
Have checked the Cain name and also different spellings of Corrin - Karrin, Karron.
Thank you,
Penny
