There is a Rollinson Waller born Bradford c.1857- could it be an abbreviation of his name?  How old does the man look on the photo?

Hi there,

The gent in the picture appears to be well into his late 50's or older.. Perhaps there is and older "Ross Waller/Weller?.. Studio was in Hull..

I thought it could be an "n" at the beginning...Do you have any relatives in Hull? or any connections to the sea that would bring them to Hull?

Can we see the front...if you say he was in his late 50s then we are looking for someone born in the 1820s who had reason to be in Hull in the 1870s....How is he dressed?
