Millers and O'Malley's of Bray
« on: Thursday 23 January 14 15:38 GMT (UK) »
Hi,

I am trying to find information on the Millers of Bray

And information on a Jane O'Malley and her history.

If anyone has information that would be great there might be people who still know them as Thomas Miller only left to come to the Uk in the mid 1950's

Living relatives in Bray

Thomas Miller was Born in 1936,

His dad was also Thomas and that his mum was Catherine, and that Catherine died in 1962/1963.

Brothers and Sisters:
The eldest is Jane, born 1928 and registered in Rathdrum BUT she is actually Jane O'Malley, not Jane Miller and married as Jane O'Malley. I've sussed her out but not why she is an O'Malley.... I'm working on it.

The eldest brother is Denis 1929 who married a Theresa. They stayed in Ireland and never had children.
Then there is Josie (Short for Josephine I believe) who ended up living in Norton.
Then there is Catherine, then Thomas then Elizabeth (Bessie) who also stayed in Ireland and married someone called Seamus, and also had a son called Seamus.
I did actually also find a Delia?? Born in 1946
Most are records are registered to Dublin South and Rathdrum.
They where Roman Catholic's and not Church of Ireland.

This is the information I have so far...

Are you sure about Thomas's father being Thomas as the only marriage i could find was
Denis Joseph Millar and Catherine O'Malley
April June 1928
Rathdown vol 2 page 526
Deducting approx 20 yrs off the marriage date
leads to the probable 1911 census of 1.2 Mcgees Court
Denis Millar age 30 van man
Mary wife 28
Thomas son 9
Denis son 7 possibly born Rathdown 1904.
Bridget 4
Edward 5 months

1901 census of 10.2 Mulgrave St, Kingstown
Denis 23
Mary Anne 23
Anne Mary age 1

Marriage Rathdown 1900 Jan March
Denis Millar and Mary Anne Doyle
 vol.2 page 799

Jane possibly born out of wedlock.

I suggest you get one of the twins Josephine or Catherine birth certs and compare it to Thomas's.
