Could it possibly be Garcia but spelled Garccia?

Last letter could be anything!

Dawn M

I would agree with this interpretation but with the spelling..Garccea.

Paul, are there any other lower case letters c, r and n on the baptism that you can post here so we can compare?

Evening Ruskie.

Unfortunately, the baptism information is from a transcribed database and does not feature an image of the original baptism entry.

I may have to arrange to view it at our local Family History Centre.

Ruskie,

I am attaching a further portion of the 1857 Leather/Barlow marriage for comparison as requested which identifies their places of residence, which reads 'Westmoreland St'.

The more I look at it, and in conjunction with the discoveries of a Robert and Ann Garner residing in Helsby as well as the 1822 Garner/Newport Chester marriage, I am increasingly of the opinion that the surname is Garner.

As pointed out previously, the 'r' and the 'n' are identifiable from other instances of those letters within the record. The 'r' from the occupation of 'Carter' and the 'n' being identifiable from the 'n' within 'Westmoreland St'.

Hello -

The final letter does not look like any other 'r' in the clip - I would read the name as Garocci.

craggagh.

Having just looked though, and at the image that was attached for comparison within my first post (Places of residence - both reading 'Great Howard St', I think the potential 'r' at the end of the surname in question is very similar to the 'r' within the 'Howard' of 'Great Howard Street' (within the upper instance).

Anybody agree/disagree?
