Marriage records NEVER tell you where the bride  & groom originated! ;D

They will, however tell in which parish they were residing for the necessary 3 weeks while the banns were called.
Garrad (Suffolk, Essex, Somerset), Crocker (Somerset), Vanstone (Devon, Jersey), Sims (Wiltshire), Bridger (Kent)

Very occasionally some of the earlier records did state the Location. Joseph Norris married in London and it is recorded that he was from Inkpen and his wife from Buckinghamshire, so am HOPING!! that this record might throw up a clue also.

I think you'll find that the Parish Register entries simply said something like:
Joseph Norris, of the parish of Inkpen . . .

Which only means that was where he was living, and where the banns were called.

It is not a statement of his birthplace! ;D

I appreciate what you are saying. At this Moment in time I am simply trying to collect any Information available regarding Robert. I know I am grasping at straws  but it IS still worth investigating.
Joseph was bapt. at Inkpen son of Robert, but no birth of a Robert.

I've checked the Berks FHS marriage CD and unfortunately there is no additional information given for the marriage.
