Castle Garden shows an "A. Schwindt", farmer, arriving on the Stadt Antwerpen on 2 Feb 1849 from Antwerp and no other Schwindts in that year. Have they mistranscribed his first initial?

(Heinrich=German for Henry, possibly your Nicholas "Henry" Schwindt?)

- Helena Schwindt, b/date unknown, birthplace as above
- Christian Schwindt, ditto
- Peter Schwindt, ditto
All the children of the same parents, Nicolaus and Maria.

and son Henry was b. 1837 when Nicholas was 10 - impossible 

Something not right.  Unless the 22-year-old A. Schwindt who arrives in 1849 is not Nicholas...

The 1855 Kansas death cert should confirm his birth year.

At Wolf River on 1880 census with wife Louisa, both born in Germany, and 10 children, all born in Kansas - the eldest is 15 - and a 45-year-old Swiss man.  Henry was a farmer. Birth year given as 1835.  Father's & mother's birthplaces given as Germany.

(i) In 1865, at Highland, Doniphan Co., KS, to Louisa Kopplin, b. Marienbad, Auswold, Germany 1844, d. Holton, Brown Co. KS, 1939.  Arrived in USA 1864.  Henry and Louisa had 12 children:
 
 - (1) Charles Edward Schwindt, 1864-?, (2) John Schwindt, 1866-1931, (3) Ida Schwindt, 1867-1961, (4) Huldah Schwindt, 1868-1951, (5) Louis Schwindt, 1869-1950, (6) Henry Schwindt 1870-1948, (7) Louisa Elizabeth "Lizzie" Schwindt, 1872-1919, (8.) Minnie Schwindt 1876-?, (9) Otto Schwindt, 1876-1961 [Minnie's twin?], (10) Emma Schwindt, 1877-1977, (11) Clara Schwindt 1879-1969, (12) Flora Phillipina Schwindt, 1882-1980. 

Henry and Louisa divorced in 1898. 

(ii) In 1898, he married (?) Anna Loefler, b. Iowa 1857, d. Flagler, CO 1927.  One daughter from this union:  Freda Schwint, b. 1898 Iowa, in 1920 residing at Center, Lyon Co. KS.  In 1900 and 1910 the family was resident at Center before Henry's death, 1913.
