Hi again, this one is not yours, this Susan b Botusfleming, Cornwall is in Tavistock in 1901.
Can you give details of death in 1908 Newton Abbot, as I cannot locate on Freebmd?

:) Thanks for that, so now running out of alternative deaths for Susan/Susannah, age a bit out, but obviously if it is her it was down to what the informant believed was her age?

I Think  this  is the correct Susan  Oliver  found   as  Suzan in  1908

From the  OPC   Cornwall     site  , Burials

 25-Mar
Year 1908
Parish Or Reg District Phillack
Forename Susan
Surname OLIVER
Age 96
Residence 22 Albert Road Newton Abbott

Makes  sense  that  though   dying  in  Newton Abbott, she  was buried at  Phillack  with Charles

PS OTT perhaps, but so what, off work 15 days holiday!
But what on earth was Susan doing in Newton Abbot?  Looking in 1901 the road comprised Railway personnel,  Painters, Carpenters etc?

And where was she in 1901?

Thanks for all the help.  As you know I could not find her on 1901 census.  But I wonder if she was in a work house in Newton Abbot.  It appears they did have one. Are we able to look at anything from there? Do they have records?

Hi again Pat, as I said above in 1901 ie this road was for mainly Railway personnel and no sign of a Workhouse in 1911 as well, and why if as you believe possible 100 miles from her home?

Thanks  will have to look further into it. Perhaps one of her children or grandchildren lived there.  Who knows.
Now I am turning off for the evening.
