Interested in the details of Robert Woods marriage to Susan Boyle 1864. Does it record her place of residence , her father's name and her age. Where did they get married?
Thank you

Details as requested:
September 1864 [exact date not clear on copy of certificate], at Parish Church of Bailieboro, co Cavan (Church of Ireland) marriage of:
Robert Woods, aged 22 years, Bachelor, Farmer, resident of Pottle, son of Charles Woods, farmer;
and
Susan Boyle, aged 18 years, Spinster, no occupation, resident of Garbolia, daughter of Thomas Boyle, farmer;
witnesses: Isaac White & William King.

Robert Woods was the brother of my great-great-grandfather George Woods.  Please refer to my post on the Cavan forum titled: George Woods & Anne Gilliland, Mullantra, Kingscourt.  In particular, please see my posts of 17 Feb & 1 March 2014 which mention the children of Robert Woods & Susan Boyle.  I have more bits of information too.

If you are descended from Robert Woods & Susan Boyle, I will be delighted!

Regards

David

Thank you for the details. I am very curious about Susan Boyle. The area Galbolie and C of I church in Bailieborough are promising details. Would you know of any of her siblings? Also how common was the surname Boyle at that time around Bailieboro.

I have had a search through the 1901 census for Cavan.  While lots of Roman Catholic families were named Boyle, only 4 households named Boyle were Church of Ireland.

URCHER
Thomas Boyle, Head, 65 years, Farmer, born co Cavan
Bessie Boyle, Wife, 64 years, born co Cavan
George Boyle, Son, 28 years, Farmer's Son, born co Cavan
Anna Elizabeth Boyle, Daughter, 21 years, Dressmaker, born co Cavan

MAGHERACALDRY, COOTEHILL
Emily Boyle, Head, 40 years, Farmer's Servant, born co Cavan, not married
John Boyle, Son, 13 years, Scholar, born co Cavan

CORNACARROW, COOTEHILL
Andrew Boyle, Head, 62 years, Farmer, born co Cavan
Ellen Boyle, Wife, 52 years, born co Cavan
Charles B W Boyle, Son, 20 years, Solicitor's Apprentice, born co Cavan
Elizabeth F Boyle, Daughter, 19 years, Scholar, born co Monaghan
James Henry Boyle, Son, 15 years, Scholar, born co Monaghan
Anna Maria Whiteley, Sister-in-law, 54 years, born co Cavan

TULLYVIN WEST, CAVAN
Marwell J Boyle, Head, 56 years, JP & Land Owner, born co Louth

No Boyle families who were Church of Ireland were listed at Galboly on the 1901 census.

Meanwhile, I can find 3 people with fathers named Thomas Boyle who were married at Bailieborough around the correct period:

- Susan Boyle (born 1846) who married Robert Woods (son of Charles Woods) on 22 September 1864;
- Anne Boyle (born 1846) who married John James Armstrong (son of Joseph Armstrong) on 23 April 1868;
- Elizabeth Boyle (born 1838) who married James Nelson (son of Joseph Nelson) on 5 June 1856.

Maybe that is some help.
