Many thanks Helen...

I'm now pretty convinced Mary came from Culceth (calteath) and so hoping details of her birth/baptism and first wedding to a "Burtonwood" may be found..

Regards

John

before I go to bed for the night found this info on her possible father Robert.

1851 Rixton with Grazebrook, Warrington
Robert Parr 63 1788 Farmer born culcheth
married Mary Parr 75 born culcheth
James Parr    59 brother born warrington
Robert Parr  10 grandson born warrington

1841 Grazebrook, Warrington
Robert Parr    50 1791 Farmer
Mary Parr    60
Margaret Parr    20
Alice Parr    20

This I think link back to Robert and Dinah in Culcheth
Dinah Buried 1 Oct 1821 Parish Church, Newchurch in Culcheth.
Robert must have remarried

Mary must have been b 1812 to robert and Dinah
which will ties in with a death I found earlier
Mary Wilkinson Dec 1885 age 74 Leigh 8c 164
but cant find a parish record to link in nicely with this death.

Its late so I may have made a few errors  but there seems to be a link with warrington so I think you maybe about there now

Helen

Thanks very much for your help so far.. Is there any records of Mary Parr's first marriage to a Burtonwood prior to her marriage to John Bowen.. Rather strange that 3 husbands died quite young!..

Regards

John

Hi again

Great finds Helen, looks like i need to head over that way at some stage... i wonder what made Mary return to her roots.. you would have thought she would have remained in the Manchester area with her family...

Thanks once again for your time and effort..

Hello John, Just come across your posting asking about the wife of John Bowen 1819/1847, your record Mary Parr. I have her recorded as Mary Burton nee Parr b1814, Father Robert Parr b.1791, Mother Mary b1776. Married my 2nd Gt.Grandfather John Bowen 17th May 1840.

My father was Wilfred (Bill) Bowen, my Grandfather, who died before I was born, was Robert Francis Bowen, Gt.Grandfather John Thomas Bowen.

Regards Bob Bowen
