Hi,

You can search for any children (born England/Wales) using FreeBMD:

http://www.freebmd.org.uk/

However I too could not find any.

It may be that the child/children were not born in England or Wales or that the birthdate(s) are too recent for coverage on FreeBMD.

Rootschat isn't a forum for tracing living people and it may be that any children the couple had are still alive which means we can't post specific details here.
Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!

It is possible that this is the son:
http://en.ww2awards.com/person/50302

Terence Helfer, 1920 (Hendon - see freebmd) - 2010 Devon.  He was awarded the DFC:
Quote
"Flight Lieutenant Heifer has completed many operational sorties and throughout has displayed the highest standard of efficiency and devotion to duty. He has undertaken many hazardous missions and on two occasions has had to bring his damaged aircraft down on the sea, being rescued after being adrift in the dinghy for some time on each occasion. Despite these experiences he has shown outstanding keenness for operational flying and has proved a most valuable asset to his squadron."

I'm amazed!  I have looked for a son of Taylor but didn't think he would of used his mothers maiden name, that's if it's him of course, I will speak to my dad tomorrow an tell him , I'm sure this will jog his memory either way, there's even a photo an my dad may recognise him, although was in the 1940's when he last saw him. Thank you so much I have a lot to research now. Great stuff
