Arthur Robert Osburn born Hull/Goole around 1900

 Arthur Robert Osburn.
Can anyone add anything at all on this person. Other than Merchant Navy records, a possible marriage in 1915 and a brief article in a 1944 copy of the Hull Daily Mail, I cannot find anything about his birth, death or census records. Tried the spelling Osbourn.
Thanks SW

This could be his birth reg., June quarter 1891:

Osburn    Arthur Robert         Goole    9c   877

Medal listing site gives his birth as 7th April 1891
http://discovery.nationalarchives.gov.uk/SearchUI/Details?uri=D4351797

If so, 1901 census shows him born 1892, Goole Yorkshire. Son of Arthur and Patience (Thompson, mar. 1889 Goole?). Arthur senior is an Engine Fitter Marine, which would fit in nicely.

Thanks for the replies. It would seem that Arthur (Senior) died in late 1901 and (I have just discovered) young Arthur was put in an orphanage. His MN CRS2 says he was born 07/04/1900 it was not unknown for sailors to lie about there age usually to obtain an enhanced rate of pay.
ORBITA was owned by Royal Mail Lines, Arthur Robert served most of his MN career with this company retiring in 1951 so its a fairly safe bet to say  it is him on the passenger list.
Still looking for a death. Maybe he retired overseas.
