You can't compile an accurate family history from transcribed indexes.  You need certificates to validate your research.

I have purchased certificates for majority of my families but I have not always purchased certificates just to have a look at it unless I have exhausted all other avenues or unless there to no other avenues for me to pursue.  I do have due limited funds like everyone else .  Funds may be extremely sparse but energy and imagination with determination, I have plenty of LOL

I don't know if any new information has come to light since this thread started, but I am also looking into the Slavin family specifically Arthur Slavin born around 1880. His father is Frank Slavin.

Wal, did your Arthur marry Lucy English in 1935? Do you know anything about his life before this?

I have not delved very far into the family yet, but from what I have gleaned so far, there seem to be some anomalies out there.

I would love to make contact.  Can you tell me how you are connected to Arthur Slavin.  Arthur is my grandfather.

Good afternoon everyone,
My great great grandmother was Susannah Slaven, who became Susannah Whyte.
Her father was James, her mother was Bridget Carr.
James' parents were Edward and Bridget Slaven of Gullen in NSW.
