What army would be in Dublin city in 1683??
« on: Thursday 27 February 14 22:35 GMT (UK) »
My ancestors were in Dublin around 1700 and I found a very early burial record from St. John's parish but i'm not sure if it's related.

13 Nov. 1683
The burial of Daniel McCleane, soldier in Capt. Morrisson's Co., St. John's parish

I know the Williamite army came in 1689, but would this be part of King James' Irish army? or a local militia company?  Thank you to anyone who can help
All Maclean-variants.

Only reference I can find so far is a book about Scotch Highlanders in America in the 1780s and some of them belong to Captain Morrison's Company's+Company&source=bl&ots=6DYGdTAv2L&sig=aONERW3ezfH_7OBJwCDAWy_e98Q&hl=en&sa=X&ei=WMsPU8r5DcLC7AaApIG4Dw&ved=0CC8Q6AEwAQ#v=onepage&q=captain%20Morrison's%20Company&f=false

I tried to shrink the link but can't get it to work.

This might be be the same guy
