Hi Margaret

Ancestry has the service record of a David C Swankie. He served in the army, but was born in Crail, Fife in c1886 and a greenkeeper.

That is the only record they have, apart from medal details for six man of that name who served in the Royal Navy.

Ken

hi ken
thank you for looking. I don't think he was my grandfather .i only was guessing that my grandfather may have served in WW1 because of his age & occupation.
