Thomas Kilmartin of Tubbercurry
« on: Monday 03 March 14 00:38 GMT (UK) »
Hello I am trying to find some information on Thomas Kilmartin of Tubbercurry I am not sure if this is the right spelling as I have seen it spelt Tobercurry as well.
Thomas Kilmartin was born about 1857 he seems to have left Ireland sometime before 1890 and ended up in Manchester where he died in 1933 according to his marriage certificate his father was James Kilmartin occupation Farmer, the certificate gives no details of his mother.
thank you

on the census for 1901 could not find any Kilmartin in Tobercurry, but there are Gilmartin listed at no 42 a Patrick a Tailor, and 133 Thomas a shop keeping. I wounder if your G became a K?

Kilmartin listed in Roscommon.

Hi,

My name is Andy Kilmartin, I am the Great Grandson of Thomas Kilmartin, I live in Manchester, England. I have only just seen your post regarding Thomas Kilmartin.
My mum and dad (unfortunately they have both passed away) did quite a bit of research into the Kilmartins in Dublin and also Tubbercurry. If you are still interested and could try and locate what they found out.

Andy.
