Apologies for the information being a bit disjointed.
Baptisms may only list the parents as James and Elizabeth with no mention of Elizabeth's maiden name.
There are frequently mistranscriptions of and incorrect information on certificates.
The MI’s in the newspapers for the deaths of Elizabeth and James
MOODY also mentioned a
brother Thomas Henry and his birth was registered at Hobart with father Henry!! and mother Elizabeth
JONES. One of the MI's mention

Advocate Burnie 15 Jul 1919
FARMER'S TRAGIC DEATH
HOBART, Monday.-An inquest was held at Sandfly to-day into the circumstances attending tho death of Thomas Henry Moody (46), a farmer. The evidence showed that deceased
was returning home from Hobart under tho influence of liquor, and was found lying on the roadside about a mile and a half from home. Dr. Hodgkinson was summoned and pronounced life extinct.
Tho doctor deposed that death was due to a lacerated liver, causing internal hemorrhage, through being run over by a cart. A verdict to that effect was returned.

Perhaps this illegitimate birth should be investigated along with the mother's possible marriage a few years later. If only the names weren't

There is only one birth registered in 1861 to this couple. I would suggest that there were more births that weren't registered.
