his son James is baptised August 20th 1775, abode given as Amble,
Gunning County Down,Kneale Isle of Man,Riddle Tynemouth,Bibby Kendal/Bradford,Colenso Penzance/Barrow-in-Furness,Steele Corney Fell,Chapman Ely,Dawes Alfreton,Blamire Westmoreland and Ulverston

I think my direct ancestors also go back to James Paul born in Warkworth. I've seen mention of one James Paul born in 1709 and another in 1712, one showing Catherine Hudson as spouse and the other Catherine Hutson. Not sure if it is the same person. The immediate descendant for me is George Paul b1740.

I can't see any mention of Joshua, but am interested in what info harryone has on James et al please.

Hi,
Thanks for your  message, its been some time since i used this site. James Paul i have was born 1707 Warkworth, he maried 8.6.1732 St Lawrence Church Warkworth to Catherine Hutson [1711] both of Gloster Hill Township.
At Baptism James is shown as Jacobs Paul [1707] and Catherine as Catherina Hutson [1711].

George Paul [shown as Georgius Paul] was born 1741 baptised 8.2.1741 died 1805 he married Ann Swan [1744/1805].

Is this the same family????

Hi harryone, thanks for the response. Yes, the George details match what I have and his father is James. Are you saying that James was baptised as Jacobs? I'm struggling with finding this link. Is there any documentation you can share please to show the connection?

Should have said 'Jacobus' Paul [Latin at the time of Church records].

I can send you a few items but you will have to leave it with me as we are in Rented at moment
and all my files are in storage. I need some time to find the documents.
