i.m trying to trace my gg grandfather peter mc manus or mc manis he was an irish hawker born in 1808 in Ireland .He came over to manchester with margaret gowland, no trace of any marriage. Had 2 children patrick who died and thomas born 1851 they then moved to durham where they had william born 1853 and jane born 1857. peter died in durham in 1850. I would like to know where he came from and if he was married or baptism record if any body can give me any advice it would be a great help .my first time on this website

Can you confirm Peter's date of death - do you mean 1860?

yes sorry my mistake it was 1858 when peter died he was a licensed hawker he committed suicide in Durham Margaret was born in 1823

thank you very helpfull on peters death certificate his name is peter but he could have said his name was patrick after his son that died twelve months before in maybe margerat was still married
