Hennigan / curley - County Mayo
« on: Sunday 30 March 14 17:47 BST (UK) »
Hi I am trying to trace my Irish roots , any help VERY much appreciated.
The Hennigan's  have been in Birmingham (UK) since 1860 namely Michael Hennigan born approx 1828 in mayo Ireland . His wife was Catherine Grogan . His father was Charles Hennigan , Charles was deceased by 1860 . I cannot find them listed in UK census prior to 1860 , I know they were allegedly from County Mayo so KNow its a long shot but wondered if anyone has Michael and Catherine in their tree :)

Nightmare name to research.  ??? A Hennigan married one of my Coleman ancestors from Mayo but it wasn't the same spelling as yours. I went a bit down that branch and there was so many different spellings used e.g. Hennichen Henighen Henachan etc etc I gave up as it was just a side track. I'm fairly sure they were also originally from Mayo though.
