« on: Saturday 05 April 14 14:57 BST (UK) »
Hi, my great-grandfather is buried up in the Belfast City Cemetery along with his son who died before him but there is a man called John Magee, who was buried first, in the grave also. Bought the records from the cemetery search page and found out it was a Mary Magee who is proprietor for the grave. Just hoping someone could help fill in the blanks of who the Magee's were. My great- grandfathers son who is buried there also has the name Magee in his name but cannot trace them in my family line. Any help with this would be fantastic thanks. :) just some more info to go on John Magee died 66yrs old in 1897 lived Brennan St Belfast all I know though thanks again!

Just to provide some extra background for folk reading your post, can you confirm that your Great Grandfather was James Robb (father Alexander) who married Agnes Nelson (father William) in Ballycarry Presbyterian Church in December 1912?

Is this likely to be the couple before their marriage in the 1911 census, showing James from Scotland?

Is this likely to be Agnes' parents, William Andrew Nelson and Mary Elizabeth Holden, in 1901?

Hi, struggling to get anywhere finding anything out about my great granda. He was originally from scotland and married before he married my great granny Agnes Nelson, born 1892. All I really know for sure is his date of death,1918. Working with the things I can find he was born in 1876. I tried using a Scottish site but there seems to be so many james robbs. Im not even sure what date he moved over to Northern Ireland but he was here for the 1911 and possibly the 1901 aswell.
Many thanks  :)

Yes will hunt out the marriage certificate tomorrow. He died in ruth street (last address) Belfast. Have his form for burial, have contacted the cemetery for help finding the grave as I've had no luck before with it being such an old grave. Yes he was a plumber, have him on the 1911 cencus but think in 1901 he was either still in Scotland or I just can't find him! Any help would be so brilliant.
Thanks

Well I don't know if this is your man but I have found a James Robb in the 1901 census living at

13, Friars Street, Stirling, Stirlingshire, Scotland and place of birth is Stirling

His occupation is given as plumber and he has a wife called Elizabeth born 1877 at Dollar, Clackmannanshire.

You don't state where in Scotland James was born so don't know if I have found the right one.

Thank you all very much, do we know what happens to that Elizabeth? Still need to poke out the marriage certificate but he married my granny after 1911 but was already over here so Elizabeth must have passed away before that.
Thanks
