Enoch Powell was actually registered as John Enoch Powell, born 16 June 1912, Birmingham.

His parents were Albert Enoch Powell (1872–1956) headmaster and Ellen Mary Breese (1886–1953)

You could try following that line of Powells  :)

Thanks, Albert i believe was born in Kings Norton in 1872 but its his father who would have been born around 1850, and i understand he was in the iron industry...

1881 has place of birth as N K for Enoch.
1891 - Smethwick.

I can't see the 1871 you refer to.

Enoch Powell (Albert Enoch Powell's father) was born 1847, Smethwick, Staffordshire.

There is another Enoch Powell who was born 1851, Old Park, Shropshire, Miner who could be the one who was living with you GGG GM.
