Thank you all very much. Gold stars for everyone.

After posting my query, I just went into the garden to fill the bird feeders and 4 hours later I've just come back in  ::)  At least I've managed to cut back an old overgrown honeysuckle and found 2 clematis trying to grow underneath it.  Hopefully, they'll shoot up now.

The original suggestion was Schischitar but I agree Henry Schischkar makes more sense, especially as there is a Masters and Mate certificate for him on Ancestry.

Like Ainslie, IgorStrav, Rena and Nettie I thought it might be Henry H Chichester, but like Carol I thought his surname started with a Mc.
