1803 Army of Reserve look up - Tuckey
« on: Sunday 20 April 14 18:22 BST (UK) »
My ancestor, John Tuckey, fought in the Peninsular war. I don't have full access to the Army of Reserve list but he doesn't seem to be on it from viewing FindMyPast without a full account. Can somebody check for me? Thanks!

Hi and welcome to Rootschat
There is a John Tuckey who has "5 clasps Vitt P.N.N. 5"   The last could be a letter J or a number 5 and I don't know what they mean I'm afraid.

Thanks for checking. The 5 clasps are for Vittoria, Pyrenees, Nive, Nivelle and Toulouse and I do have a copy of the medal roll scan. Would anyone be able  to confirm that if he isn't on the 1803 Army of Reserve list that he likely signed up voluntarily and therefore wasn't part of that balloted 'pressgang'?
