Eliza Jane (nee Morrall) seeking 1963 death information

I have just found out that a great grandmother, Eliza Jane (nee Morrall) born in 1882 at Newcastle, Staffordshire and died at  Cheddleton Mental Asylum Staffordshire  (St. Edwards) on 12/18/1963. She was married several times, so her last name at the time of her death could have been: Eaton  or  Dunklee  or Finlay.

I am curious why she would have died in a mental institution. Does that suggest that she had mental issues or was this a full service medical hospital for people with health issues as well?

Also, does the hospital have a cemetery?  I've never been able to find her grave. What is the closest cemetery to the hospital?

Any and all suggestions on how to proceed with my search would be greatly appreciated!!

according to The National Archives 1898 - 1948 it was the County Lunatic Asylum at St Edwards ,Cheddleton ...1948 - 2002 it became NHS ..?? doesn`t look like an Asylum after 1948 ??...just St Edwards Hospital ....maybe someone local can advise ??

that`s a pleasant surprise - she married William Finlay as Eliza Jane Duncklee mar qtr 1954 -7 miles from where I live ...for the record she was 72...what a woman ...

need to find her marriage to Duncklee /Dunklee ...having problems ..apart from one other record in UK the only Duncklee I can find are ALL in Massachussets 1720 - 1969 ..
I woder if she married an American from Burtonwood Airbase nr Liverpool during WW2 ??
many Garston girls did ...the yanks held dances for the local girls to go to ...going to check on John Eaton on CWGC deaths for WW1 and WW2 ...

no problems - I do it all the time ..lol...really struggling with the Dunklee / Duncklee marriage for Eliza Jane ....obviously between 1901 and 1954 ....can`t even find the Dunklee /Duncklee name
