Surname change?

Greetings peoples. After quite a while, I can now start looking in earnest for my elusive relative. A number of years ago  I found a Richard Wenlock HOLTON burial in Clapham aged 56yrs in 1806. Same church a Mary the first daughter of Richard HOLTON  & Frances his wife, late F FARRAND.
On another day,  I noted down a Francis  son of Richard & Francis WENLOCK at Enfield in 1801. I am so puzzled ! Is this the same Richard, if so, how is his surname now WENLOCK not HOLTON. Maybe I am missing something? Any ideas please?

Yes it is the same bloke.
There is a marriage Lambeth St Mary
Richard Wenlock bach of this parish to Frances Farrand spinster 10.10.1799.
wit Richard Fox? and w Gawley.
both signed
Other children under Wenlock
Richard 3.6.1798
Francis son 12.7.1801
Mary 30.6.1805 all St Andrew Enfield Middlesex
I'm assuming his parents were unmarried and he could therefore be both.

HOw did you find the other children to Richard & Frances?
Would my next 'best bet' be to search Enfield Microfilms? I live in Australia, so not able to visit LMA.
And how did HOLTON come into it?

Good Morning
Looking at St Andrews Enfield you have two options.
One you go to a Familysearch/Morman Library in New Zealand and they will order a copy of a microfilm for you and you can search through it.
Two you  go to Ancestry and that has the parish on there.I don't know about New Zealand but my local Library has it for free.
I've had a look on there for the entries I found and there is no more information.

I can't find Richard's baptism so I can't prove my theory about his parents.
There is a marriage of a Thomas Wenlock and Elizabeth Holton 22.12.1743 on Familysearch at St Mary Stratford Suffolk that could be his parents.
I can't find any children for them but then Suffolk is difficult to trace on line.

Frances Farrand seems to have had children  before the marriage -
Frances a daughter baptised 29.6.1786 at St Mary Barnes.
Charles a son baptised  10.9.1788 at St Mary Barnes.Buried 26 Sep 1788
It seems strange Richard was 47 when he married for the first time.

Good Afternoon Ciderdrinker. Once again many thanks for your assistance. As I live in Australia, I will order the film in for St.Andrew's,  through a Morman Library in Geraldton. I too thought the same about Richard's late age.Surely he would have had to have had other children earlier on?  I'm rapt you found previous children for Frances Farrand. You obviously know a great deal re: difficulty in Suffolk details online. Once again, thank you.
