An interesting offer - thanks Adrian.

Requests can be made by posting on this thread or by Personal Message to Lancaster103.

Posting on the thread is preferable as others may be researching the same name but please remember that it is against Rootschat Policy to post details about living people on the open boards - so please use PM system to exchange information on surviving crew/family members if you are unsure.

If the offer is still open I would be interested in photographs of the graves of:

Ernest George Scott (Plot KK grave 90)
&
Joseph Frederick Alexander (Plot RR grave 46)

for my website www.westberkshirewarmemorials.org.uk

Any additional information would be welcomed.

Sure!!!!  Here they are.

-about J.F.Alexander I can add that on the 15th March 1945 he testing a new aircraft Tempest MkV(SN133) which had arrived that day at Volkel airfield in The Netherlands. He was unable to get the undercarriage down. After many unsuccesfull attempts he radioed that he was going to belly land his aircraft. Joe touched down the radiator dug into the ground turning the aircraft onto his back, exploding and killing him.

- About Sgt E.G.Scott he was the midupper gunner of a 44 Sqdn Lancaster LM592 , and shotdown on their way to Wesseling oil plant 21/22 June 1944 by a German Nightfighter. Aircraft exploded which killing the entire crew. Aircraft crashed near Riethoven in a hamlet called Walik.
