Lachlan Mckinnon, slate quarrier, ???  (I am obviously reading it wrong as I have no idea where or what Croitennoras, is!) and Jean Capmbell, daughter to James Campbell,  ??? looks like Half??? both in this Parish, gave up their names for proclamation of banns in order? to marry.

Croitenorras will be Lachlan's abode, the Campbell's abode is Halftown, all within the same parish.

Which county & parish is this & what year?

ADDED: Sorry, the year of 1817 is there  :-[

ADDED 2: a google search shows some Halftown Cottages near Inverary, Argyll. Looking at the old maps on www.nls.maps.uk for Inverary there is this, so Croit is probably the local word for cottage.
Seeking: RC baptism Philip Murray Feb ish 1814 ? nr Chatham Kent.

Did they marry in Luss, Dunbartonshire?   The National Library of Scotland maps show Halftown to the south of Luss  http://maps.nls.uk/view/74426611

Hi Kay & Josie, Yes it was in Luss, Dunbartonshire. they had their first child Catherine in Luss, then moved to Sleat, Isle of Skye. Thanks for "Halftown", that helps me a lot, gives me an idea of the area.
Any clues on Croitenorras? I'm trying to estabish Lachlans (b. 1792) parents?
regards Vicki
