Nairn Travels across Britain on the BBC IPlayer
« on: Monday 12 May 14 16:39 BST (UK) »
Found these fascinating short documentaries that were first shown in 1972 of Ian Nairns travels around the Industrial North of England. Originally it was a film to comment on the Architecture but today I think are of super historical importance.

1. From London to Lancashire by Car calling at Northampton's Emporium Arcade and Stockport Shopping centre

2. Trans-Pennine Canal from Worsley though Leith Wigan Blackburn through the Foulridge tunnel to Skipton Bingley and finally to Leeds.

3. Leeds to Edinburgh on the Skipton to Carlisle route Wow how this route has thankfully changed :D http://www.bbc.co.uk/i/p01rwh55/

Would love to see more of Nairn's old films - enjoy :)
