Merryweather family Sedgehill

I have discovered the grave of former Merryweathers in Sedgehill churchyard. I think the most recent might have been my great great grandfather. His grandson Harry was born in South London and worked for British Rail. Any info most welcome, thanks, Jill

There are quite a few baptisms and marriages on freereg for the area.  Click the soundtex box as many are mis spelt.  No burials listed.

Is there anyone in particular you want to trace? Just for info, Rootschat has policy of not posting any info on living people to protect identity.

Hi. My Merryweather family came from Sedgehill but being the wealthy ones, left lots of docs, wills etc. The large altar tomb outside the S door of the church was erected c 1808 but now most of the legends have decayed but luckily someone copied them c 1900.
Unfortunately, the parish registers pre about 1700 are missing but there is evidence to hazard a guess that they are descended from 17C Quakers from nearby Fovant who were persecuted for their beliefs. I have a skeleton family tree of other numerous Ms, not my family, and if you want it as a GEDCOM do let me know.
