I have now found George's baptism indexed under Tanner, along with that of his sister Ann

TANNER
18 Mar 1840 Ann daughter of Charles and Jane
04 Apr 1841 George William son of Charles and Jane

George married Ann de la Cour

St Helier baptism
Baptism 28/09/1864
Birth 13/08/1864
Delina Louisa Tapper
Father George William
Mother Ann De La Cour
Father's occupation Plumber
Godparents Father and Mother

Ann had previously been married to Edward Todd/Lodd/Good? depending on which census you look at, in the 1861 for Jersey they are Lodd. Edward Jnr's age is given as 11 but I think it should probably be 11 months, although if this is his baptism (see below) their maths wasn't very good.

St Helier baptism
Baptism  20-11-1859
Birth 11-09-1859
Edward Charles Zadd
Father Edward
Mother Ann de la Cour
Father's occupation Mariner
Godparents Father and Mother

Mary Ann's baptism (2/12/1857, birth 18/10/1857) also gives her name as Zadd.

That's about all I can do from in front of my computer, the rest will have to wait until I can get at the registers but that won't be for about 3 weeks. I'll PM you if I find anything else.

Oh thank you so much.
I had been struggling with this family mainly because George and Anns son who is the next link to follow has a variety of names!!!
He first appears in 1871 census in England as Charles H born Jersey age 0 or 1. After that he is 1881 Harry born Southampton, 1891 Henry, 1901 Harry, 1911 not found him yet.
So not sure yet if he was born in Jersy or England.
Best regards Amelia

Charles Vandenburg and Jane Delatat married in the St Helier Town Church on the 15th of July 1845.

His details are - aged 30, bachelor, occupation Publican, living in St Helier, born in Portsea, Hampshire, father Charles Vandenburg, occupation Agent.

Her details - aged 42, widow of Charles Tapper, living in St Helier, born in St Saviour (which she wasn't), father James Delatat, occupation Sailor.

Charles Tapper died in St Helier between August 1842 and February 1844, it is recorded in the indexes on page 95 so the death would have occurred very close to the end of that period.

Delatat and its' many variations is not a common name here and the only possibility for Jane's baptism was in the parish of St Lawrence on the 12th of September 1802. She was the daughter of Jacques De L'Etat and Jeanne Le Maistre. (Jacques is usually translated as James and not Jack)

Thank you so much for those details.
I did find a marriage for Jane and Charles which says "Jeanne" so this does sound like her baptism.
Thank you again for your help.
My family and their jounrey is slowly coming together.

Do you have access to the marriage records for 22nd April 1824. St Saviour.
Charles was born in England the census says but i have no idea where. I wondered whether it says in the actual record where he was from

Unfortunately the marriage took place before civil registration and the marriage record in the parish register only says 'of St Saviour' which is presumably where he was living at the time.
