can i get grandads unclaimed medals or copies

hi,little help please i believe my grandads medals ww1 was unable to be delived due to a possible house move and were returned,unclamied,..i have all birth/death certs from his father to mine and im the oldest living nok.to prove this..would there be a cost? and does anyone have an address or email,that i can contact..i have his full service history..service number, 1653A william (jones alias later changed to halsey) halsey,enlisted 30 11 1914 dis 13 7 1919 56th battalion,bef any help or further info please ask and thans..

Hi

I successfully claimed my dad's medal. You need to contact the MoD, just google "claiming war medals" and you will see what you need to do. There is no charge but you do have to prove you are the next of kin by sending in certificates.  They don't take too long to come.

Apparently they were melted down after a time; but you should be able to get replica medals?
