I have been looking at the British Royal Air Force, Airmen's service records 1912-1939 on FindMyPast an they have transcribed one of my relatives occupation as "Boob shop manager". !!
To be fair when I looked at the original it is not at all clear - fortunately I know he was the manager of a boot and shoe shop, not sure what his wife would have made of him managing boobs all day.

There are an awful lot (thousands) of mistranscribed people with the surname TUCK and TUCKER !!!

The old fashioned way of writing a T seems to have caught people out as it looks like an F.

I discovered that when looking up Tucker for a friend of mine.

I do hope that you are all reporting these errors?! ;D

Ancestry, FindMyPast, Genes, etc won't know there's an error unless somebody tells them - and it IS very helpful for the next person who goes looking! ;D

Yes usually with a scathing comment if its really obvious
