Prefabs in Heaton Park,
« on: Saturday 07 June 14 16:50 BST (UK) »
Hi everyone, I was born in the prefabs in Heaton Park and actually went to Parkside school until I was about 7 when we had to leave as there wasent the facilities for older children. I then went to another school but within 18 months things changed and you could then stay until you went to senior school. Lived at no 55 Broadmere drive, don't really remember many of the neighbours names except the boy next door was called George and we used to chant Georgie porgie, pudding and pie, kisses the girls and makes them cry. We were always getting him in trouble with his mum. I remember most of the prefabs had privet hedges round them, Think I was about 7 or 8 when we left which would have been in 1956ish. Loved the prefabs and would go back and live in one now if I could. Happy times. Don't have any pictures of the prefabs but do have some class photos taken in the gym at the school which I will sort out and find out how to download.love to all

Hi Everyone
My mum lived in the Prefabs in Heaton Park, she lived there from being 5 - 13. My mum was adopted and her name is Margaret Gillett, she would always be found playing in the trees. My mums parents were Mary and Fredrick Gillett.
It would be great to hear off anyone who knew my mum.
Thanks Joanne
