When they married on 29th July 1911, Ellen was living at 46 Scott Street and John was living at 17 Scott Street.

Now I'm getting confused?

So Ellen wasn't 35 when she married? As detailed in reply #4?

** The Cryer family you mentioned - Rachel Cryer was previously Rachel Cronshaw so there is a link.

** marriage 1896 Alfred Cryer/Rachel Cronshaw

Maybe not, Ellen is with mother Rachel in 1901 sorry wrong mother.

To KGarrad
the marriage you are referring to was Mary Cronshaw nee Murtha who married Herbert Axon when John Cronshaw passed away
When Ellen Cronshaw married John Hindley she was 19
Yes it can get confusing at times that's why I started a new thread because the last one got too complex
To Milliepede
Been down that path - told you it was confusing thanks anyway - we should solve this one day ;D

Blimey this is a real puzzle.  I guess we haven't got John Hindley on census either?

Think I've found John albeit not at Scott Street  :(
I was hoping if he was would lead us down the road to Ellen.

She must have upped her age a bit when she got married.

I wonder if families are getting mixed up and there are two Ellen daughters of John  :-\

There is a family tree with Mary E born 1891 daughter of John and Mary marrying Dennis Burns.
Wasn't one of the witnesses on a certificate called Burns?

Marriage Denis Burns/Mary Elizabeth Cronshaw Dec 1908 Manchester so she isn't your Ellen.

As you were!
