*COMPLETED* Allerton Cemetery Liverpool

I can't seem get a reply from the cemetery, although I don't know their opening times, so I'll keep trying.

Garsonite, thanks for the map (It looks like a very large place    ).  I plan to visit on Saturday 28th June, so hopefully the search area will be narrowed down a bit by then.  If your drinking buddies can give any insight into which section of the cemetery burials from 1923 might have occured, then failing all else that would give me some idea of where to start!

Just a thought  - You could join Find A Grave (free) and create a memorial page for Louisa Walls at Allerton Cemetery and then request a photograph - its explained here -  How to submit a photo request.  Hope this helps.

Looking at the FIND A GRAVE site it looks like someone has taken photographs at Allerton cemetery. Goes under Progbase - perhaps you could contact them - person on this link

I used to be able to get grave details for free from Allerton by e-mail if I had the name, date of death and cemetery. I think the last time I tried I got no response. They do have a formal search facility but you have to pay to get a search done. Sometimes you can get grave details from Liverpool Record Office for free if you have specific details ie date of death, cemetery etc it's useful to have the death certificate before looking for a grave:-

Hurrah!  Thanks to Blue for the tip.  I'm happy that I won't have to wander around searching every gravestone as this looks like it could have taken some time!

Hopefully there will be a gravestone for you. The section they mean is probably CE 6 but don't forget there is also a section GEN 6.

Hiya Sue ....I am going to visit my 88 yr old aunt at Leonard Cheshire Home opposite Allerton Cemetery today ....you say you are going to visit the grave in CE SECTION 6 GRAVE 83 today ...
weather looks awful ...I hope you are in a car or you might get wet ...I will be going in my car to the Old peoples Home ...I can meet you at the Front Gate of Allerton Cemetery between 10 am and 12 am if you are on foot ...as you go in on the left there is a Large Map of the cemetery ....good luck ...
if you need assistance , let me know before 10 am as I will be leaving around then ....
