Hello All. I thought I would add a little more to this chat. My Grandmother was Evelyn Mackay(Mercer). She was the youngest of all of George and Sarahs children, being born in 1920. She was extremely fond of her brother Harold, and was really proud of the fact that he was in the Royal Navy. She too joined the Woman’s Royal Naval Service and was based in Weymouth ,during the Second World War. I too joined the Royal Navy in 1988, and was able to find details of Harold at HMS Excellent Gunnery. School,on Whale Island Portsmouth. She lived with her husband George in Horley, Surrey. Her Sister Christina and hausband Len also lived in Horley.  They remained very close, and were both great fun. My Grandmother died 3 years ago and since then I have been delving into our Scottish heritage as I feel a very strong link with the country. I am very proud to have Mackay blood in my veins!!

TONY, just spoken to my father who remembers playing with you when visiting Harold. He will join this forum.

Hi David,  I have a few photos of the Surrey Macs. This is one of my great aunts.....  I think.  Not quite sure how these attachments work. But here goes.

Thanks Tony, that is my grandmother Eve. My father has a photo of her standing with King George. He is going to send me copy, I will then put it on here. Did you move to Australia? I believe your father was a Lieutenant Commander like myself.
