One of my ancestors died at Fort William, Bengal in 1906.
He was in the Royal Marines and had served with them from 1898 when he was aged 18.
He died from enteric fever.
I wonder if someone could tell me if he would have qualified for some sort of naval pension or would have left a will .

Did he leave a widow or any children?  If not - it's very unlikely any pension would have been payable.

No I don't think he was married, although I have never found proof of this .
He was only 18 when he joined the RMLI and 26 when he died .
