Mary Ann Goulden 1838
« on: Friday 04 July 14 05:54 BST (UK) »
Hi, can anyone help at all ? I have an ancestor who is believed to have been born 1838 in Roscommon but in the 1911 census she is born 1829, I do know sometimes births can be a little out but Nine years ? She wed Michael Tobin in 1859.
Her parents were Thomas Goulden & Bridget, actually anything on her parents as well , I am trying to find out exactly where she came from.

Thanks
John

Hi in the 1841 census it says Mary Goulden born Lancaster 1838 ?  there is a tree that has the mother's name as Bridget McCabe and a marriage for them on 7/1/1836 Killucan R C Parish Roscommon Ireland .....so if this is correct I would say she would have been born about 1838 but where ?..

Hello Rosie17, thanks for the post, I have seen conflicting records that state she was born St.Helens/Prescot area & then Roscommon, I am really interested in finding her parents marriage/birth areas.

Any ideas....
John

With regard to Mary Ann, you could try that birth or see if you can find a baptism locally.
That would give you mother's name and more to search with.

You may be able to rent the film with that parish on to check for the marriage https://familysearch.org/search/catalog/112020?availability=Family%20History%20Library

This is the one referred to https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/FGXP-GQS

You would need to check Bridget's surname from a birth certificate of a child born in England.
