MacRae from Erbusaig
« on: Saturday 05 July 14 13:01 BST (UK) »
Hello Chatters,

I'm looking for a Margaret MacRae born in 1895 to Annie MacRae at Erbusaig. She is listed as Maggie MacDonald on the 1901 census, so I guess her father must have been a MacDonald, as Annie wasn't married. I wonder if Maggie married and when Annie died.

Hopefully someone can help. I had a look on Scotland's People but there were too many possibilities, and the ones I had a guess at and downloaded were wrong.

Regards,
AMH

Did you manage to find them in the 1911 census and did you try for a marriage for Margaret using both names as that would let you know if the mother was still alive ....were they living on their own or with other family members ?

Hello Rosie,

Yes I found them in 1911 at Erbusaig. Margaret was listed as Maggie MacDonald age 15, living with her mother and grandmother. I haven't looked at the marriages yet but that's my next task. Thank you for your  interest.
Regards,
AMH
