Father of the above females, Henry Thomas Edermaniger (Maniger)

I can't find a birth for Henry Thomas Edermaniger,  on his marriage in 1898 he states he is 26, d of b circa 1872, if I am correct his parents married in 1874 in Bethnal Green,  so he is possibly under his mother's maiden name of Burford, and he was born in Lambeth, in the daughters death cert sent he is shown as being born in Germany, his father, according to his marriage cert was John Edermaniger a tin plate worker, journeyman, Henry Thomas death information is as follows

death 12/09/1910 Toronto
date of birth 03/10/1874
Father John Maniger, so he had reverted to being called by the surname of MANIGER
Mother Elizabeth Burford
Birth for a Henry Thomas Burford  Dec qtr  1871 Lambeth,
He is on 1901 in Stoneham in the rifle brigade as Henry T Maniger, aged 29 born Lambeth, so I wonder where the Germany place of birth came from

I had a lot of help years and years ago from a KarenM on Rootschat for Henry and his wife, because I lost a lot of info as my computer died on me I cannot revert back to her help messages

Every bit of information helps

Thank You

Hi Sandra
Well as you see KarenM and I did lots or research years ago, she filled in lots of gaps as you and other RC's have done on this post

I am currently looking for where Henry Thomas Edermaniger got to, born Burford/Barford,  I have found 4 half brothers and 3 of their marriages but Henry is nowhere to be seen, also his father seems to have done the disappearing act when it comes to the census, one son 1880 was baptised , so near to the census but not on 1881

Makes you wonder why they emigrated, seems once Henry and his wife emigrated her sisters soon followed to make a better life, sadly Henry die din 1910

Back to my census search for awhile, beats housework ??????????

Henry's military records at Find My Past give his father as next-of-kin with an address of 12 Willmott Buildings, Long Lane, Borough of London. Henry enlisted in Nov 1889.

The 1901 England census has John Edermaniger with wife Elizabeth listed in Lambeth (Piece: 409; Folio: 43; Page: 22). John was 51, a tin plate worker and born in Lambeth while Elizabeth was 50 and also born in Lambeth. John is listed as an inmate in the Lambeth Workhouse on the 1911 England census. He was a widower.

John's death is listed in the FreeBMD as being registered in Sep 1919 in Lambeth (volume 1d, page   226).

There is a John Manager on the 1891 England census in Lambeth (Piece: 396; Folio: 153; Page: 7) who was 40, a tin plate maker and born in Lambeth. He is with wife, Elizabeth and sons, John, Charles and Lawrence.
