John Rennie Ship to Bowen Australia Christina Rennie Huet
« on: Sunday 13 July 14 08:31 BST (UK) »
Seeking contact from 'Diana' whom I found by accident on the net. Christiana (Christina)  Rennie Huet is my grandmother. Born on the John Rennie, landed in Bowen 1872.  I am very interested in the diary which you have and any other information of the English family. Christina married twice, my mother being of the second marriage.   My name is Marcella and can email me on (*) Very anxious . Saw an entry from Rosie as well.
My  mother Maude 98 years is the daughter of Christiana (Christina). Have her maternal history back to Thomas Lesadd who married Mary Ann Jones early 1800's. Keen to meet up with the English family.

Hi ponies,

There are many ways of attracting contact with living relos... and ways of tracking them down

http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php?topic=261434.0

For attracting them .. find a site that will host your family tree ... don't put up the present generation (living) nor would I put up the immediate past generation. I would not include more details thaen dates of BDM and the reliant places. Put your email address there and wait .. it may take a year or two!

To get the required 3 messages to get 'private messages' to work, you could post a response to this and another response to the above message.

Hi Ponies,

I am in Romford, England.  This is where my ancestors lived before they made the journey by the John Rennie to Australia.  So my ancestors are around Cootamundra way.  It was my ancestor who wrote the diary.  Speak soon,

Diana

Thank you Diana.   I would like a copy of the diary if possible. I will cover any costs of course.  I could make contact with the Cootamundra relatives if you think that appropriate.  I live in the southern part of this great big country and not all that far away from Cootamundra. (Will be very cold there at this moment).
Are your relatives on the John Rennie of the John Thomas Huet family or was this Ros who was asking for information?   I have just begun researching my mother's line and find it almost addictive and facinating.  I have visited England & Europe several times not knowing that there are blood lines in these countries. Looking forward to a reunion some time. Regards Marcella

Hello Diana,

I have just come across RootsChat for the first time, a link to this thread came up when I searched for the John Rennie.  My ancestors on the John Rennie were George Henry Packman and his son George, they settled in Sydney.  You have posted that you have a diary of the voyage written by your ancestor and I'd be very grateful if you're willing to share it with me or, if it's lodged in a library whether it's available publicly. I'm not quite sure how this forum works but hope to hear from you.

Kind regards,
Debra Sleith

Hello again Diana,
I have received your message in my inbox but the system says I am not allowed to send private messages.  I can't find a help topic so am unsure what to do.  Is it ok for me to give you my email address via the chat?
Kind regards,
Debra
