Tracing obriens in county carlow Ireland.
« on: Tuesday 15 July 14 17:01 BST (UK) »
Hi I have just started doing some genealogical research. My gran was from county carlow and her name was Anna marial o'brien, but moved to birmingham and married my grandad and became a white.

She was born on the 28th September 1942, she passed away on the 4th July 2003 at 60 years old.

As far as I'm aware she had a sister called Marian, and another called Margaret, I think there last names were o'brien. I know she had a brothers called Ikey and Stephen o'brien. Her possible brothers were Laurence and john joe but I'm not certain with these.

We know her fathers name was john and mothers name was Francis.

If anybody has any possible information, it would be of a great help.

Thank you.

This is the only Anna Maria O brien in the civil registration index in Carlow in 1942
https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/F1H9-L2R

You can order the birth cert from www.groireland.ie giving the references. If this is the correct one it will be possible then  to get some info on O' Brien siblings with mother's surname Whelan.
