So this is his family in 1901
http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/reels/nai003793374/
And this is his listing in the will calendars
http://www.willcalendars.nationalarchives.ie/reels/cwa/005014916/005014916_00060.pdf

Edward and family are living in one room and yet 8 years later his son is worth £85 and is listed as a Gentleman. Bit odd.
Or have I incorrect records?
Have you looked for him in England?
Even if the £85 is made up of stock and equipment, he's not listed as a saddler.
His father died the same year but doesn't make the list.
Are you sure they are the same family, the mother's age is 32 making her 14 when he was born.
That's the only family with a Betram that I can find.

I think that must be his brothers family, they are far too young
At 14 Merchants Quay in 1911 (same address as on the will)
is what looks like a sister Rachel and her family with his father Edward.
http://www.rootschat.com/links/018z5/
and the same family at Queen Street in 1901

The two families do appear to be related,
Bertram Slator as witness to Edward and Esther's marriage, older Edward is father.

Augustine's death appears to be mis-transcribed as Corrigan
