INCOMING PASSENGER LISTS - 1887
« on: Wednesday 23 July 14 13:07 BST (UK) »
Hi Folks,
Just picking up eastern European family again.
A long time ago someone sent me the following and recently have not been able to amplify:-

David Goldstein b. 1871 Linkower, Russland + household members.
Dept: Hamburg 1887 for USA via Grimsby and Liverpool.
Left ship, the Northenden, and went by train to Liverpool.

The only other info I have is that the "Northenden was owned by  The Great Central Railway (Manchester, Sheffield & Lincolnshire Railway Company).

Any enlightment greatly appreciated.

Hi Sandra,
Thank you for the speedy reply, but not him.  I should have explained further.
My David Goldstein was married to Leah Labisky (where ??) and he died (I think) in 1910 in Liverpool.
The reason being in the Liverpool 1911 it shows his wife widow and two children.
I was interested in the Passenger List to see if that was them.  Cannot find the family on the Incoming to UK.

Thank you very much for time and effort.

There were no UK Incoming Passenger Lists from Europe to the UK. The one you referred to was a Hamburg passenger list that called at Liverpool.

Hi Sandra,
You have answered my question with your previous reply.  That David Goldstein will relate to the record I posted, but is'nt mine, because ......
I have just been reading up on the Northenden and evidently it went from Hamburg to Grimsby and the passengers were ferried by train to Liverpool to board another ship for the USA.
Thats why it says "went by train to Liverpool" and not meaning he stayed in Liverpool as I thought.
So I can discount him.

You answered my question and I am grateful for that and apologize for the confusion.
