Ballantyne Family

Good Evening. I am wanting to trace my mothers family, the majority seem to have been born/lived around the Galashiels area.

Limited knowledge to date is Walter Ballantyne born approx 1850, married Jane Brydon 01.11.1872

I do not have birth or death dates of either.

Walters parents James born approx 1805, mother Mary, maiden name unknown born approx 1807. If you could let me have the birth.death dates of the above and marriage date of James and Mary as starters it would be appreciated.

I would like to look at Parish registers etc but in South Africa at present.

Deaths from 1855 onwards show both parents names and mothers maiden name

Anything prior to 1855 is available in the Old Parish Registers (OPR's) on the same website

Hi, my family seems to have stumabled around the Lanarkshire, peebleshire area before coming to Canada ...john Sinclair ballantyne son of William ballantine and Agnes forest but have almost nothing more than names for Williams parents Thomas ballantyne and jean tod.wondering if my dates are holding me back ancestry and family search have differing birth orders and dates in  relation to john Sinclair and his brother James.

My wife's line goes back to a Robert Ballantyne born about 1867 in Scotland married to Annie Laura Fawsitt or Fawsett born 1872.  Kids all born in Toronto and Owen Sound 1892-1906.
