"Parking" a part reply to a post
« on: Friday 25 July 14 17:01 BST (UK) »
Is there a way of "parking" a part reply to a post or to a PM?  I often want to go to another part of the site to check something before completing my reply.  I can do this by opening another window but a "draft" area would seem to be a more normal way of doing this?

It is with great difficulty I share with you that in the early hours of 07 August 2021, Maximilian passed away unexpectedly but peacefully.

With deep sadness,

I'm not sure that you can, although one thing you could do is highlight what you have and use copy and paste (copy the text, then when you want to come back to it, paste it back into the text box). It's not as good as saving a draft, but it's a thought. You just have to remember not to copy something else before you've pasted!

I don't see why a 'parking lot' would be any more convenient than opening up another tab.

If I have lengthy or time consuming reply then I usually deal with it by drafting elsewhere then copying into Rootschat.

Thanks all for the pointers.  That said, having just watched the TV news reporting on continuing mayhem in the Middle East, sadness for relatives of the MH17 disaster and the Air Algerie crash among others I've decided that fussing about how to reply to a post is probably not the best thing to be doing right now.  Thanks anyway.

It's called "the dripping tap syndrome" maxD   :D - all those little niggling things that annoy and finally tip us over the edge, we know they shouldn't but we all have those moments now and again  ;)
